Decided in July 2016 by the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Junker, and the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Keqiang, the EU-China Tourism Year was launched to achieve three goals: promoting lesser-known touristic destinations; improving travel and tourism experiences; providing opportunities to increase economic cooperation; and creating an incentive to make quick progress on EU-China visa facilitation and air connectivity.

This initiative will help Europe and China to mark a significant step forward in promoting successfull commercial and cultural exchanges. The programme of EU-China Tourism Year forsees numerous events including high level political conferences, business summits as well as b2b matchmaking workshop for tourists operators but also webinar and public events to introduce the best of Europe to Chinese visitors and investors.
